How Win Arc's 'Art at Peace' showcased young artists

IT was a celebration of young artists' creativity as Peace Estate, Baruwa, Lagos State, had a feeling of art appreciation from Win Arc Centre's exhibition that marked the community's end of the year party.

The exhibition titled Art at Peace showcased artworks of children of the estate, age from 6 to 13, who showed paintings of 20 pieces raging from abstracts to realism artworks. The artworks were created during Win Arc Centre's several holiday training for young art enthusiasts.

The founder of Win Arc Centre, artist Archie Abia expressed his delight that the "young artists have been impressing their parents as well as the community with growing enthusiasm." And in appreciation of the young talents, Abia disclosed that some artworks were bought by visitors during the exhibition.

"Works were sold and the Children very happy," Abia stated enthusing that the show was encouraging to do more. "On this, we are planning a more bigger event for the kids next year 2025." One of the instructors, Pastor Harry Ogada was also present to encourage the young artists. 

The Chairman of the Estate, Engr Omojowo used the occasion of the exhibition to tell the audience his achievements since he took over the leadership of the community. He also disclosed his plan for 2025. Alhaji Wasiu and Barr. Kokomo the immediate past Chairman, were among other dignitaries that visited the exhibition.

Exhibited artists included Anyawu Great (10 yes), Glory Emeyeh (8), Adulmateen Adadeji (9), Dominion Ebuleh (10), Jensen Adegbola (12), Daniel Sunday (13), Gabriel Ogunremi     (10), MorireOluwa O. Moses (6), Tanitolowa Fred (8).

Some of the artworks on display included Effect of War,  The City beyond, Love and Harmony, Sun set 1&11, Sun Rise 1 &11, Sweet Home 1 and 11, The Strength of the Nation, A life of a Woman, Flower of Life, Sea Site, and Wealth in the Creek. 

Abia recalled how Win Arc Centre started in Ikeja for many years and moved down to Peace Estate, Baruwa. "And our full plans to do this exhibition in a bigger way is still a Work-in-Progress as we are looking for sponsors to showcase the children and welcome more participants."
