A new South African box office record has been set by the nuch talked-about film titled Mandela, Long Walk To Freedom.
The film’s production company, Videovision Entertainment, yesterday, was quoted saying the British actor, Idris Elba starring biopic is South Africa's all-time highest grossing after its opening last week.
Grossing as much as R4.4 million, the British-South African-production, according to the production company, has shattered a record previously held by blockbusters like The Wolverine and Hangover 3. “I am extremely pleased with the audience reaction” South African producer Anant Singh said.
Indeed, the prospect of a blockbuster started showing in Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom right from its premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where it got rave review.
