Again, Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami has been listed as a top contender for the Nobel Prize in Literature 2013.
Murakami, the author of such works
as The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Norwegian Wood and IQ84, tops the list of
speculator and notorious betting house, U.K-based Ladbrokes. The author, it is
recalled was The Guardian’s top choice for the prize last year, but lost out to
Chinese author Mo Yan.
According to Ladbrokes, quite a
number of authors have chances as well when the Swedish Academy Award announces
winner in October. In the contenders’ list are second place Joyce Carol Oates,
{6-1}; third, Peter Nadas from Hungary, (7-1); fourth, South Korean poet
Ko Un (10-1);, and fifth, Canadian short story writer Alice Munro (12-1).
