Nigerian-born artist based in New York, U.S.,
Iké Udé is among Vanity
Fair's International Best Dressed list 2012.
Ude is making the list for the second time, having been listed in 2009.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton, tops the list of 40
making it her third time consecutively. The list includes Jessica Chastain, Bill Cunningham,
Léa Seydoux, Jay-Z, Colin and Livia Firth, Tom Brady, Alicia Keys, Fan Bingbing
and Morley Safer in that order. Ude is number 18 on the list.
And who is Ude?
Part of his bio says Ude is an "African/postnationalist,
photographer/performance artist, artist/spectator, male/female,
mainstream/marginal, seduction/narcissism, and fashion/art. Like Andy Warhol,
Udé plays with the ambiguities of the marketplace and art world, particularly
in his notorious art, culture, and fashion magazine, aRUDE.
