Russian Pavilion may be the target of the country's western enemies, a deputy culture minister Vladimir Aristarkhov had warned his country's contingent.
The prolonged Syrian crisis and the issue of allegations that a spy and his daughter were poisoned by Russia may just extend to the Venice event. Specifically,
the deputy minister, according to several reports suspected the issue of Sergei Skripal, and his daughter, Yulia who had poison attack in the UK. The UK government has blamed Russia for the attacks. Interestingly, Russia has turned the table, returning the blame that the Skripals might have been poisoned by the British Government.
“As the Venice Biennale is one of the biggest and most important venues in the sphere of international cultural exchange, we must be vigilant,” said Aristarkhov, “The Skripal case proves that other counries will stop at nothing—any provocation, so long as it is anti-Russian”.
