Idris Elba as star of Nigerian novelist’s film adaptation, Beasts of No Nation


Idris Elba as a warlord in Beasts of No Nation
Written by Uzodinma Iweala, Beats of Nation – which derives its title from a 1989 music album of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti – has been adapted for a film starring Idris Elba. 

Produced by a U.S-based group, Netflix Film, Beasts of No Nation, stars Elba as an African warlord who takes young boys under his wing and trains them to be his mercenary fighters,
  
The plot is set around Agu whose country’s civil war experience in West Africa forces him to join a mercenary group of fighters. Agu faces the trauma of death of his father, missing mother and sister.
  
The film is heading to the Venice Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Canada and scheduled for
theater releases in the United States next month.
