From
December 2, to 14, 2013, master printmaker, Dr Bruce Onobrakpeya takes his art
out of the regular art gallery space, joining the new effort of curator, Sandra
Mbanefo-Obiago at taking art to the people via an outlet, Temple Muse, Victoria
Island, Lagos.
It’s
also the master’s opportunity to show some of his new body of work titled
Recent Experiment in Prints. Low Relief. Mbanefo-Obiago says, the exhibition include
serigraphs from the artist’s “Sunshine period” of the 1960s-1970s, and
paintings and etchings that feature images from his “Dance to Enchanting Songs”
series.
When the show opens on Sunday, Onobrakpeya
will also share how his art evolved through various media and majoring in printmaking.
