A-ARTs: With new instructors, Winarc Summer Class celebrates future masters

STARTED ten years ago, Winarc Summer Art Class, at Peace Estate, Ipaja, Lagos has every reason to celebrate its journey.

"I'm grateful to God that my dream is coming to reality," Winarc Studio Founder, Archie-Abia Godwin stated shortly after the 2026 edition. "This experience has been interesting and innovative, particularly now that we have two new energetic artists and instructors, Temitope Victoria Ogunwale and Enoch Makinde."

Godwin, a master artist noted that the challenges of the Winarc Summer Class "are like that of Nigeria." He explained that "we would love more students and sponsorship in the future summer.classes."

One of the art instructors, artist Ogunwale, known as TEMI OG shared her experience: "I really enjoyed impacting the little knowledge I have about art to my lovely bright students. They made it so easy because they were available to learn new things about art and experimenting with new materials." She thanked the parents "for trusting us with their children and investing in Art. It was a good experience."

Participanting students include Joshua King, David Ejikeme, Sophia Ejikeme, Great Anyanwu, Moriri Oyediran, Divine Olatidoye. Amanda Nene, oluwafey isikemi Enigbokan, Khadee jah Oduyale, Daniel Olaosebikan, Victoria Olaosebikan, Ireoluwa Atolaoite Akinbohun, Gabriel Thompson, and Glorious Thompson.

"It was fun. It was very interesting and nice. I will like to participate with them again," 4-year-old Victoria Olaosebikan.

Divine Olatidoye, 14, stated: "I experienced a lot of fun activities and learned more skills."

Ireoluwa Afolabi. 12, enthused: "It was a wonderful experience that I don't want to end. We learnt different things about art that cannot be learnt anywhere else."

David Ejikeme: "I learned how to sculpt which was my favourite part. I love my friends and teachers."

"I learnt that art isn't just about painting and drawing, it's about being courageous and brave. I would like to thank my teachers and friends for being there for us all the time." - Sophia Ejikeme, 8 years.

"I learnt that art isn't only about using a pencil to draw, it's about setting your mind into something and just going for it." - Oluwafey isikemi Enigbokan, 11 years.
