In its ninth edition, TKMG Aucton continues to focus on West Africa's leading artists of modern and contemporary periods. The ninth TKMG auction also has new concept in exposing works of emerging artists.
Opening with preview and  cocktail on Friday, July 20, 2018 , the sale holds on 27, at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island Lagos.

Organised yearly by Terra Kulture and Mydrim Gallery, TKMG is puting for sales works by Dr Bruce Onobrakpeya, Kolade Ishinowo, Ablade Glover Rufus Ogundele, David Dale and Dele Jegede among top modernists as well as post-modern career artists. Contemporary artists include Abiodun Olaku, Alex Nwokolo, Seguin Aiyesan Sam Ebohon, Tayo Olayode, Veronica Otigbo-Ekpei, Dominique Zinkpe and Fidelis Eze Odogwu, among others.

Quite a gathering of rich collection across periods, poetic medium and critical as well as commercial values, TKMG Lagos art auction 2018 offers depth of tastes in both modern and contemporary African visual culture. Sales for the total 75 lots of paintings and sculptures will be conducted by auctioneer, Remi Okunlola.

Described as Nigeria’s "foremost Indigenous Art Auction House", TKMG boasts of celebrating the country’s and West Africa's cultural heritage through the visual arts by focusing on the selection and sale of exquisite pieces at their annual art auction.  "The auction will feature a carefully curated collection of some of West Africa’s most notable artists", TKMG stated.

Being proudly sponsored by Union Bank, Dorman Long and Unilever with
Aspire Luxury Magazine as media partner, TKMG auction is also introducing something innovative to it's ninth edition. It is a competition format that gives two emerging artists  window of showing their works at the Lagos Art Auction 2018 while five semi-finalists will have their works featured on the Terra Kulture Art Gallery Instagram page.
"I am very excited about Lagos Art Auction 2018, as we have an even stronger collection of works, a number of them have already been reserved,"  Ugonna Ibe-Ejiogu, Curator at Terra Kulture Art Gallery stated  "For the first time, as part of the auction, we are giving two emerging artists the opportunity to showcase their work and benefit from expert critique by notable artists and seasoned collectors". Ibe-Ejiogu however said the "selected works will not be up for sale at the auction". The opportunity of showing at the TKMG auction, the curator noted "will certainly be invaluable exposure for the finalists and we hope that it becomes a catalyst for their career growth.”
