The presence of art of Nigerian descents increases at the 57
th Venice Biennale as British artist, Chris Ofili shows his first
exhibition at Victoria Miro Venice.
Scheduled to open during the Vernissage for the 57th Venice
Biennale, the exhibition entitled Poolside Magic is returning Ofili to the city after his presence
twice in 2003 and 2015.
Recall that with the
exhibition titled Within Reach, the artist represented Britain at the 50th
Venice Biennale in 2003. And at the 56 th edition of the event, in 2015, his
paintings were among All The World’s Futures, directed by another Nigerian,
Okwui Enwezor.
